The author discusses the lack of technical innovations in Canada. He suggests that a dependence on natural resources and lack of researchers has led to Canada's decrease in innovation. The author recommends government policies that focus on strengthening specific industries. The cost of carbon sequestration in Canada is also discusses. Rob Renner, Environmental Minister of Alberta, warns that building a pipeline for carbon sequestration may be costly for taxpayers.
