Abstract

The article focuses on the performance of the consumer price index (CPI) in the U.S. in December 2006. During the period, the CPI for All Urban Consumers grew by 0.1 percent as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Moreover, consumer prices increased at a seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR) of 0.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2006. Furthermore, the index for housing increased by 0.4 percent during the period.
