Abstract
- The article presents U.S. legal cases and developments in marketing relative to the regulation of price competition. In reference to price discrimination the Monahan's Marine, Inc. v. Boston Whaler, Inc., et al. case is cited. The case focused on price discrimination and the restraint of trade. In 1988 the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) charged six book publishers with price discrimination on the basis of violating the Robinson-Patman Act. In reference to price control the Tafford E. Oltz v. St. Peter's Community Hospital case is cited. The case focused on conspiracy of restraint of trade.
