Abstract

The author reports on the role of technology in advertising by discussing the purchase of 24/7 Real Media Inc. by WPP Group plc and the purchase of aQuantive Inc. by Microsoft Corp. Plans made by both companies are discussed. The conflicts of interest which may arise with these mergers along with the effects on advertising are mentioned.
