Abstract

The article comments on problems related to the use of the term organic psychotic disorders in the ICD-10 categories released by the World Health Organization in 1992. The word organic introduces an inevitable paradox. The subsidiary terms used are often inconsistent. The guidelines used to identify the organic mental disorders are illogical.
