Abstract
- The article presents a study concerning the role of adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector in gene delivery in the treatment of bone and joint disorders. Complete inhibition of osteolysis in animals with AAV-osteoprotegerin gene therapy using an in vivo model of debris-induced bone resorption was conducted. It reveals that AAV vector promotes efficient in vitro gene transfer to cells, while in vivo targeting is sufficient for long-term expression of therapeutic proteins.
