Abstract

Air Commodore R. D. Gillespie, Consultant in Neuropsychiatry to the R.A.F., here replies to an article on the same subject by Mr. Alec Rodger, Senior Psychologist to the Admiralty, published in this Journal. Fully admitting the valuable services which the psychologist can render to the psychiatrist not only in vocational problems but also in psychological medicine in general, he describes certain advantages which the psychiatrist enjoys in the fields of vocational guidance and selection, and urges that recent advances in our knowledge of temperament have come mainly from the studies of medical psychologists.
