Abstract
- The article reports on attempts by Martin Sorrell, chief executive officer (CEO) of the Wire and Plastic Products (WPP) Group, to acquire digital marketing technology. Sorrell had previously questioned the purchase of MySpace.com by News Corp. CEO Rupert Murdoch, and has criticized Google's proposal to buy Internet advertising agency DoubleClick. Sorrell may face competition from Microsoft Corp. as both have shown interest in investing in advertising server 24/7 Real Media.
