Abstract

The article explores the concepts of information literacy, information technology (IT) fluency, and information fluency. It describes Christine Bruce's model of information literacy, which was developed from a research on how academic professionals use and experience information. It outlines the major strands of information literacy as stated in the Society of College, National, and University Libraries's (SCONUL) Seven Pillars model. It discusses the blended nature of information fluency and offers information on the information fluency program offered at DePauw University and the University of Central Florida.
