Abstract

The author reflects on advanced consent marketing offer in the U.S. She discusses that free-trial offers allow consumers the opportunity to sample products or services without risk and obligation while continuity and automatic renewal programs allow consumers to receive products or services without risking interruption. She added that Federal Trade Commission (FTC) conducted a workshop to examine online negative option offers.
