Abstract

The article reveals that nearly 65 percent to 70 percent of total supermarket shrink accrues from the fresh category, typically eroding as much as 8 percent to 10 percent of an individual store's sales, according to research from Infosys Technologies. Many of the root causes of shrink may be resolved by cultural adoption and forming a well-planned, strategic business process technology road map.
