Abstract

The article presents a study on the behavior of arsonists admitted at special security Rampton Hospital in Great Britain. Male patients in the psychology department in the course of one calendar year were selected as a sample group. Results indicated that arsonists showed a higher conditioning rate. Most of them had a psychotic overlay and a history of attempted suicide. A greater variety of psychiatric symptoms were detected in these individuals than subnormal and psychopathic offenders in the hospital.
