Abstract

The article discusses the study concerning the quantitative method of studying delusional intensity in Great Britain. The comparatively little experimental work has been undertaken despite the important place occupied by delusional thinking in psychiatric theory. The sample of 200 psychiatric in-patients was classified according to the type of delusion held and the patient's emotional involvement with it. The level of activity was also significantly differentiated according to the patient's emotional involvement with his delusions.
