Abstract

The article explains the issues surrounding the efforts to improve the services for disabled children and their families in the rural area of England. It mentions three examples of intersectoral action which have affected the care and management of handicapped children. It also notes that for disabled children, and during their subsequent transition to adulthood, the major parties have to be the families together with these young people as they grow up seeking choices and autonomy in their future adult lives.
