Abstract
- The article discusses issues related to the tariffs imposed by the U.S. on imports of Chinese-manufactured glossy paper. U.S. officials said the preliminary paper duties would range from 10.9 to 20.4 percent on glossy paper imports to counter alleged improper Chinese government subsidies. U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez reversed a 23-year-old policy of not applying duties to subsidized goods from so-called non-market economies, such as China.
