Abstract

The article presents the report that addresses the issue of loose social structure in Javanese ethnography in Indonesia. The author makes use of his own data concerning the Islamic rural elite to search about this study. The results show that positional analysis determines that kinship, economic, as well as religious ties result in separate subsets of kin, religious groups, and clusters of economic transactors.
