Hellmuth Pleier of MAN Roland, which created a brochure demonstrating the aqueous coating methods that can be produced using UV inks, cites foil effects, high-gloss coating requirements and rub resistance as few of UV's benefits. Corey Gustafon of JohnsByrne Co., which created a book presenting a range of UV printing applications, explains that a UV print has a nice ink holdout because it does not absorb into the sheet.
