Integrin expression at the first and second trimester feto-maternal interface.

The article presents an abstract of the research paper "Integrin expression at the first and second trimester feto-maternal interface," by E. Ball, F. Lyall, and J.N. Bulmer. The research systematically studied integrin distribution in trophoblast in placental bed biopsies. The placental bed biopsies data were taken from 45 women undergoing abortion. The results shows that variations in integrin expression may reflect differing invasive potential of subpopulations of interstitial trophoblast.
