Abstract: An interview with Stephanie Burns, chairman, chief executive officer (CEO) and president of Dow Corning, is presented. The executive acknowledges that the experience she gained from the litigation of the firm in mid-1990s has had a significant influence on her leadership style and approach to health and safety. According to Burns, she thought that being a researcher was the very highest level of profession one can reach. She predicts the importance of solar products including encapsulants.
