Abstract
- The article discusses the author's views about the digital approaches to cartography. The computerized methods of cartography may further the cartographers' understanding of non-modern maps. The digital mapping technologies can give way to new forms of presentation of maps and speedy transmission of images between scholars the world over. The author also discusses the content of the First International Workshop on Digital Approaches to Cartographic Heritage held in Greece in May 2006.
