THE MANY FACES OF EUROPE.

The article discusses the increasingly multicultural demographics of Europe and the tensions produced by conflicts between some of those cultures. The conflict between traditional western Europeans and fundamentalist Muslims who sympathize with al-Qaida is cited as one example. Recommendations for ameliorating some of the tensions are provided, which include better management of immigration and improving the economic integration of minorities with the larger society.
