Abstract

This article examines exchange-traded funds (ETFs). ETFs are similar to mutual funds but are traded on exchanges so they can be bought and sold at will. They have the advantage of low management fees but costs of trading are high. Because they do not require a large initial investment, they are appropriate for people who are just trying to enter the market.
