Abstract

The article examines the microsatellites MCMA16, MCMA53, BMS2812, RM004 and MCM159 on sheep chromosome 15 (0AR15). It focuses on the association of their alleles with susceptibility to a typical animal disease. Scrapie-associated fibril immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry were employed to determine the type of scrapie. Results showed significant differences between atypical scrapie-positive sheep and flock mates. Further study on repeated data about population stratification is recommended.
