Abstract

The article offers news briefs from across the world. Brothers Stan and Frank Koebbels are facing sentence of two years for failing to chlorinate the water sufficiently at the water system at Walkerton, Ontario, which caused E. coli to enter supply and killed seven people. Dick Ebersol, chairman of NEC Sports, was injured after a chartered plane carrying him crashed. Gundder Hagg, Swedish runner who held the world record for running the mile, from 1945 until 1954, is dead.
