Sing for Our Metropolis: Self, Place and Media in the Poetry of Rui Knopfli and Wopko Jensma.

The article focuses on the themes of self, place, and media, which are seen in the lyric poetry of the African poets Rui Knopfli and Wopko Jensma. A detailed discussion and interpretation of several of the poems from both poets is presented. A discussion of changes which have been seen in the poetry of African poets, and the social and political factors which led to the changes, is presented.
