Abstract
- The article reports on the exercise participation of urban, low-income African American women during pregnancy in prenatal clinics in Baltimore, Maryland. The results suggest that African American women may decrease exercise participation after pregnancy and as they age. The study suggests that encouraging the women to continue to exercise as they age may have promising implications for the prevention of chronic diseases.
