GLUTAMATE RECEPTOR TARGETING AND ASSEMBLY OF EXCITATORY SYNAPSES.

The article presents an abstract of a study that analyzed mechanisms of axon/dendrite targeting of metabotropic glutamate receptors and synaptic clustering of ionotropic receptors. The study concludes that different mechanisms regulate postsynaptic localization of glutamate receptors. This differential regulation becomes very important during development of synaptic plasticity.
