Abstract

The article presents news briefs related to nursing in Great Britain. The British National Health Service has drawn up a consultation paper "Fit to Lead" that removes the requirement of allocating two reserved places for nurses, cutting down the number of professional members to between four and eight. British health secretary Patricia Hewitt has admitted that a government pledge of providing a nurse for every secondary school and cluster of primary schools may not be feasible.
