Abstract
- Technical, legal, political, and social issues have hampered efforts to broaden data sharing among UK government departments. One of the major arguments against data sharing is that it violates the citizens' right to privacy. However, the new plans for personal data subvert these beliefs, outlined in the Human Rights Act, in favor of active risk reduction for a common good defined by the state. While advocating data sharing has become easier in light of child abuse and terrorism cases, implementation remains a problem. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
