- The article focuses on Sappi, a forest products and paper producer based in South Africa. The company is one of the largest industrial groups on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, with annual sales of $5 billion. Sappi reported a pretax loss of $224 million in the 2005 financial year. International ratings agencies have downgraded its debt.
