Information on the topics discussed in the "Monte Carlo Rendez-vous," a meeting of the European reinsurance industry which was held in early September 2006 is discussed. The question of what would happen to catastrophe rates in Europe and other countries outside the U.S. was discussed. Another matter discussed was the wide gap between demand and supply for reinsurance and retrocession coverage in U.S. wind-affected areas and the steps to be taken to fill it.
