Abstract
- The article presents the financial indicators in Belgium in 2006. The Bel-20 index showed an increase of 17% with respect to the value of 3,574 that was registered on January 2, 2006 following an impressive performance of the energy and financial sectors. The top performing firms in the Bel-20 index include the Groupe Bruxelles Lambert and Umicore. The Euribor rate increased to 3.41% by the end of September due to an expected rise in intervention rates of the European Central Bank.
