Abstract
- The article focuses on the 1973 World's Professional Ballroom Dancing Championships sponsored by Arthur Murray Inc. in New York City. Old-timers and dancers who were in their late twenties to middle thirties were the competitors of the event. Great Britain, which was the country that provided the international pop-rock phenomenon, is also the stronghold of traditional ballroom dancing. Austria, West Germany and Japan were the closest competitors of Great Britain.
