Abstract
- The article discusses the relationship between theoretical and emotional production in "The English Patient," by Michael Ondaatje and "Chatterton," by Peter Ackroyd. The author states that the work of Ackroyd seems to accept and use the assumption that postmodernism is not open to emotion while the work of Ondaatje refigures the emotional in refiguring identity, memory and time.
