Abstract

The article reports that fighter aircraft equipped with modern radars will be a key component of the U.S. Air Force's future mix of airborne jamming platforms. General Ronald Keys, commander of Air Combat Command at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, said that the active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars fitted on new aircraft such as the Lockheed Martin LMT -built F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II stealth fighters will carry out a lot of the U.S. military's airborne jamming tasks in coming decades.
