Abstract
- The article looks at how scientists are mapping the genome of the honeybee. According to the author, the honeybee will become the fourth insect who's genome is mapped and sequenced. Researchers plan to use the genetic blueprint in order to save the honeybee from extinction. The article includes diagrams of honeybee anatomy and different kinds of honeybees, and how the honeybee affects food production in the U.S.
