Abstract
- The article reports on the intention of Chinese intelligence agents to absorb Mike O'Dwyer, an Australian ballistics specialist who invented a high-speed gun that would provide China with a new advanced warfighting capability. O'Dwyer produced the electronic firing mechanism called Metal Storm. Chinese agents offered O'Dwyer $100 million to move to China and begin work on the gun for the People's Liberation Army. The U.S. military plans to purchase the technology according to the company that produces the firing mechanism.
