Immunology and molecular biology of schistosomiasis.

The article focuses on important advances in the immunology and molecular biology of schistosomiasis discussed at the meeting of the Section of Clinical Immunology & Allergy on June 10, 1985. Speakers during the meeting include physicians Paul Hagan and Anthony Butterworth. The demonstration of acquired resistance to reinfection by patients exposed to Shistosoma mansoni and Shistosoma haematobium and protective immunity are also addressed.
