Abstract
- The article focuses on the 7th meeting of the Forum on Maternity and the Newborn on the statistics and policy-making in the maternity services in Great Britain. First speaker Alison Macfarlane began by questioning the role of statistics in public policy-making in general, and the maternity services in particular. At the end of the meeting, each of the main speakers stated their advocacy concerning the place of delivery towards the year 2000.
