Abstract

The article focuses on the auto insurance business in Canada. Proponents of government-run auto insurance in the country often claim that provinces with public auto insurance systems have lower premium rates than provinces with private sector insurance markets. However, these claims were found to be based from the research conducted by the Consumers' Association of Canada which has made a misrepresentation of the actual cost of insurance in provinces with private sector auto insurance.
