Supplement to GSWP-2: Details of the Forcing Data.

The article describes the derivation of the meteorological forcing data and presents information on the process of hybridization of observational and model data to point out issues on Second Global Soil Wetness Project (GSWP-2) analysis in the U.S. All GSWP-2 models are on the land grid points of the International Satellite Land Surface Climatology Project (ISLSCP) Initiative II. Meteorological data from the National Centers for Environmental Prediction/Department of Energy reanalysis was used for ISLSCP. Reanalysis of data include those of precipitation, temperature, surface pressure, and specific humidity.
