Abstract
- The article highlights the Poor People's Summit held in Gao, Mali in July 2006. The summit criticized global institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, and demanded for the immediate debt relief for developing nations. Several people, mostly from Africa but also from Europe and North America, attended the three-day event. The forum discussed issued such as debt and privatization.
