Abstract

The article reports that a California Senate vote is expected on a bottle-bill reform package that is speculated to provide consumers, recyclers, processors and end users with as much as $100 million in direct financial incentives. The Assembly Bill 3056 looks to increase collection rates, improve material quality and stimulate the state's overall used beverage container market demand. It was stated that the Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act would provide consumers with a refund value.
