Abstract
- The article presents the history of the shapes and appearance of dice, the most popular random-number generator of indoor games, from ancient Egypt to the 21st century. The acquaintance of a professional gambler with the handedness of modern dice is shown as the way in detecting a common variety of crooked dice known in the trade as "tops." The kinds of sucker bets are explained and three easy dice puzzles are given.
