Abstract
- The article presents developments related to science in the U.S. The 200-inch telescope on Palomar Mountain in California provides information about the most distant objects in the universe. The committee on population of the National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council reports that majority of Americans approve of and practice family planning. X-ray crystallographers have succeeded in determining the three-dimensional structure of an enzyme which is the protein known as lysozyme.
