Choreographing Community.

This article profiles dancer and choreographer Noémi Lafrance, who stages dance productions in public areas. The dances are meant to focus on the relationship with facilities that are part of the neighborhood, but are not necessarily noticed or are feared. She has staged dances in an empty public swimming pool, a stairwell and a parking garage. The title of her latest two productions, "Agora" comes from agoraphobia, fear of public spaces.
