The First International Symposium on Kallikreins.

The editorial comments on the success of the 1st International Symposium on Kallikreins held September 1-3, 2005 in Lausanne, Switzerland. Studies have revealed that human kallikrein gene locus is made up of 15 serine protease genes affecting the functions of skin, central nervous system, genitourinary, reproductive and endocrine systems, etc. The increasing interest on Kallikreins among researchers necessitated conduction of the symposium.
