Abstract

The article presents the results of the study on the relationship between advancing paternal age at birth of offspring and their risk of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) on a population-based study conducted in Israel. It was revealed that advanced paternal age was associated with increased risk of ASD caused by biological mechanisms like de novo mutations with advancing age or alterations in genetic imprinting.
