A PERIPATETIC EXAMINATION.

The article discusses the author's experience of appearing in an examination for the post of schoolmaster in the southwestern part of Lacede county, a sparsely-settled region where schools are often many miles apart. Because of the absence of the railroads and stage coaches, the schoolmaster in search for a job had often to walk the breadth of a county.
