Distributed laboratory for remote image analysis in immunohistochemistry.

The article reports on the use of the Internet as a medium for transmitting diagnostic images between distributed laboratories for quantitative analysis of histological or cytological features. Remote morphometric quantification of L1, the ratio between positive and total nuclear area, by a remote image analyzer showed excellent agreement with the evaluation by an experienced pathologist.
